Remedy?

I went to the beach yesterday, which is why there was no post.  It's also why the back of my legs are fried to a crisp (well, part of the reason is that I think I missed them with the sun-block).
Anyway, I'm feeling just awful.  Does anybody have any wonderful remedy besides:
for the fever

&

for the burn!

Does anyone else have any other remedy?  Please?

  2. Well first, I can't say I'm exactly overflowing with sympathy, since you actually got to go to the beach ... hehee, kidding!

Ick, sunburns are the worst, and my legs and back always get hit hard. What works awesome for me (takes away the itchyness and a lot of the burning) is the Solarcaine Sunburn Relief spray that you can find at any Rite Aid or CVS -- it's awesome!

  3. I'm sorry about the sunburn. It sounds awful. I'm also sorry I have nothing to offer you for a remedy. Hope it feels better soon.

  4. Sitting your legs on a bag of ice cubes, and using advil to knock yourself out? That's about all I can think of. Hahahaha.

  5. Oh bless your heart :( I've used Noxzema before and it eased the burn. Try that and see if it helps. I hope you start feeling better soon, my dear!

  10. Sunburns are the absolute worst. They interrupt sleep and burn to shower. Yuck! I would just keep doing the aloe. Put it in the freezer or fridge so it's gets super cold before you put it on.

  12. putting vinegar on the burn helps, but it will also make you smell like vinegar and may take the color you got away... i'm sorry! sunburns are miserable.

  15. oh no! i hate when that happens! i've been burned pretty wicked bad on several occasions and really, the best thing is keep slathering on that aloe. of course, also drink tons and tons of water (more than you'd normally need) and just take it easy. wear some silk or something that feels nice and relax.

  16. beach time..fun, fun!! I love using my heated rice pad for my headache. It's actually a big one to put on your back or belly for cramps, but I put it on my head and it works magic for headaches. As far as burns go...I always go with the tried and true aloe vera from the fridge.

    Hope you get better soon!

  17. If you're not too cold (sometimes I get the chills when I'm burned and I am just freezing!) try putting a wet/cold washcloth or towel on your legs for awhile. It should soothe them a lot and then smother them with that aloe : )

  18. Wine? :) Just kidding - I usually just stick to the aloe myself!

  19. From a kid raised on the beach, I've had my fair share of sunburns.. The best/fastest way to get it to stop hurting is to rub the slime from the actual aloe vera plant onto your skin. If you know anyone who has a plant in their yard, beg them to let you cut off a few blades. It works wonders!

  21. I sat out the other day for 20 mins (yanno...in my backyard on my beach chair with SPF 50 because I burn instantly with anything less...seriously classy haha). When I came inside, I was BEAT RED. I was like AHHH...I'm sooo going to be sunburned. However, the red went away and I don't think I really even got any color. I'll keep trying in slow increments.

No good remedies...just lots of aloe and sleeping naked (because clothes hurt too bad)!!

  23. I feel your pain. I got burned so bad one time that I couldn't wear pants, because they were too tight on my knees they were so swollen. Only thing I could do was baths (cool ones) and ice packs (kept the swelling down)!

Good luck! Hope you feel better soon.
