There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, "Thy will be done," and those to whom God says, "All right, then, have it your way." (C.S. Lewis)One of my habits is worrying. I am a pro at it.
Because of this and my personality, I'm also a pro at telling God what to do. I always know what should happen. I would really like everything to work out this way, or that way.
And then I remember who I am. And how human my desires are. And how much I really don't want my own way. Really.
My ultimate goal today: Trust. Believe HE is who he says he is. Remember that I never had control in the first place. It's not even mine to relinquish. It's just my place to acknowledge, understand, and rest.
What freedom there is in this trust. I can breathe easily knowing that I don't have any control over the way that things turn out.
The best part of this though, is that my God, the one in control, knows me personally and has the best plan. When I worry, he takes me in his arms. He doesn't tell me to perk up. He simply comforts me.
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. (Psalms 56:8)hold you, too.
