William & Mercy

When I read Kelly's topic for this week's Show Us Your Life Friday, I had to participate!  We are sharing the names we want for our future children!
I make the poor husband talk about this all of the time, so we've finally settled on at least two.
I like abnormal names, and I want them to have lots of meaning.

Boy:
Billy is one in a long line of Williams, so it must be continued.  So far, none of them have been called Will, so I'm super excited.
We like Judah because it has Biblical meaning:
-It means "Praised"
-Judah was chosen to be in the line of Jesus (Genesis 49:10)
Plus, I love this verse:
Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David's throne, has conquered.
(Revelation 5:5)

Girl:
We love Mercy because, well, it means Mercy, and we believe in a name being a legacy.
My dad had a little sister named Carmen who died from cancer when she was eight.  I was the first granddaughter, and have been told I look like she did (or would have, since nobody knows for sure).  Whether I truly do or not, my grandparents mean a lot to me, and so does preserving her memory.
It's also a really beautiful name.

Of course, none of this is set in stone.  We're just dreaming.

  2. I love the name Mercy!! We have hours and hours of baby name talk in our house, okay well I talk and he listens and nods. We have finally picked out 2 boy names and 2 girl names since we don't know if we will get boys or girls, pick out four names that all sound good together and they we love equally is HARD WORK!

  3. great names! My nephew is a Judah.:) I'm big on different names. Go to howmanyofme.com and you can see how many kids in the US have the same name. There is only 1 Micah Franke and 1 Skylar Franke. I love that!

  10. dreaming up our future kids names is one of our favorite pastimes :)

i love the ones you've picked out. will(iam) is a favorite of mine, though not on our future kiddos list.

are you naming him william or just will? it's fun when people name their children just the nicknames, but william is great, too.

  22. beautiful names. I love when I hear names that I can't think of anyone I know with that name..just seems to have more meaning. I've never heard of a Mercy. adorable!! I am all about preserving family legacy and the biblical meaning behind names. We talk about this ALL the time too. I will be crazy woman about name creating when the time comes for kiddos.
