"Remembering" & Giveaway

The other day, I was trying to remember this Bible verse, and was wondering how I could most effectively put it somewhere that I would read it all of the time.  Seeing as how I'm almost on my computer all the time (hey, it's part of my job), I decided to make a background for my MacBook's desktop!
I started out with something more simple:

Then, of course, I got really excited about the whole thing, and I decided to work just a little harder, and I got this:
I am just so thrilled!  I keep looking at it, and I almost have the verse memorized!

This is where you all come in to help!  Should I add this as an option for sale on Bon Blog Designs?  Would you all like to have this kind of thing on your computer desktop (it could include a picture collage, a verse, a quote, or anything else you can come up with)?

To find out, I'm going to do a giveaway for a custom desktop background with the scrapbook kit of your choice (I used Paislee Press in mine - I can't get enough of their designs).

To Enter:
1.  Become a follower on Sydney's blog.
2.  Tell me your idea for a custom desktop background (what you would include, etc.).
3.  Tweet about this (and include me in your tweet: @sarahannrogers).

(Obviously, leave ONE COMMENT per entry!)

The giveaway closes at 10pm, Monday, Feb. 28.

It's an easy thing, and nobody may ever see it but you.  However, it's been making me smile every time I see it, and I'm wondering if anyone else would want something similar!

Giveaway!

If you were here for my first giveaway, this may look a bit familiar.
However, this awesome organization, NightLight International, has come out with an entirely new line, and I couldn't wait  to share it with you all!

If you don't know about NightLight, they help bring hope to sexually enslaved victims in Thailand and the US.  They are a nonprofit organization that also has a jewelry business attached.  They help girls get out of prostitution and sexual slavery by giving them jobs in this jewelry company.
The girls make, design, and learn how to sell the jewelry.  It's such an amazing cause, and the peices are just divine!

Today, I'm giving away your choice of one of these:

(1)

(2)

(3)

(4)

To win:

Blog about this giveaway (1)
Comment that you are a follower (1)
Tell me your favorite peice on NightLightInternational.com (1)
Blog about an organization that you like (3)

That's 6 chances!

The giveaway closes next Friday, September 10!

Winners & Roses & Getting Older

First, I'm excited to announce that the winner of the Green Giveaway is Ria Thurston from Life as a Wife!
Congrats, Ria!  Email me at sarahannsbonmot@gmail.com, and I'll get your bowl and sweet yellow towel!

Second, it's my birthday today!  When I woke up, I stepped out of bed to a trail of roses leading to our kitchen table where the husband had left me a card!  What a lovely start to my day!  I have the best husband ever!  He's made me so excited to be having a birthday!  Marriage is just so lovely!

Also, my birthday gift to myself was a new blog design!  I'm sorry if I'm making your head spin by switching it up again, but I just had to do it!  You don't have to switch out your buttons for me, but if you so desire, have at it!

The only thing that could make this day better is a party with all of you!  We could eat cookie cake (since I like it better) and blow up balloons and play hot-potato.  Ok, so maybe not.  But we could hang out and have a blast.

It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to!

Alright, so I don't feel like crying.  I just love that song.  Thank you, Lesley Gore!  I used to run around with my childhood bff, Allison (whom I have stalker-ish-ly tried finding on Facebook) singing this song along with "My boyfriend's back, and you're gonna get in trouble."  Yes, we were the cool kids.

First, it's my giveaway party.  Today at noon, the Green Giveaway closes.  Go get your entry in for this awesome bamboo bowl:

Also, tomorrow it's my birthday party!  I am not a huge birthday person, but my wonderful hubby is, and has wrangled me in to being super excited about whatever he is doing.  All I know is that we are eating dinner with my family tomorrow night and he's getting off at noon tomorrow to hang out with me!  A month ago, I didn't care much, but now, I can't wait!

If I could have somebody make you an invitation card, I'd choose Leigh, because she makes precious cards for her etsy shop.

I wish I could have a blog birthday party and you all could come!  We could pretend, right?!  Would you like to come celebrate my birthday tomorrow?

Green Giveaway

I've been promising you a giveaway, and I am so excited about it!  I was contacted by CSN stores to do one on here, and I was so happy.  CSN stores have so many lovely things from cookware to dining room furniture to bedding.  It was pretty hard to choose what to giveaway because there were so many great options!
However, as I have been attempting a more green/organic lifestyle (attempting being the key word), I thought I would giveaway an eco-friendly package!  And guess what?  You get two things!
This gorgeous Bamboo Bowl (8")

&

Your choice of one of these 100% cotton decorative dish towels.

To Enter:

Be a follower (1)
Mention this giveaway on your blog (2)
Tell me which towel you like best (1)
Mention The Big Give on your blog (See yesterday's post) (2)

Change the World Tuesday: The Big Give (+Giveaway)

This Week's Feature:

When I went to their website, I was totally inspired.  Women bloggers from across the world have come together to make up this contest.

The website describes the contest:
The rules are simple: Using $20 or less, spend the month of July plotting, executing, and documenting an incredible random act of kindness for someone. Turn in your results at the end of the month. A panel of four judges will review all the entries and choose the winners.
You even get a prize if you win, which all of us know is an incentive.  However, I'm hoping you will just join and give for the sake of, well, giving.

All it takes is $20 and a big heart.
We have a few days left in June.
Take some time to look around you.  Notice needs.  Ask yourself if you could do something with that twenty dollars to change someone else's life.

Also, please spread the word.  If you mention this contest in on your blog, you will receive 2 entries in the surprise giveaway I'll tell you more about tomorrow.
Leave a comment here telling me if you've mentioned it with a link to your blog.

Giveaway with a Heart

This giveaway is very close to my heart.  If you have read some of my posts, especially What's Your Beef?, you know that human trafficking and child prostitution are really huge issues for me that I would stop if I could!

Well, I have found an amazing organization called NightLight International that rescues girls in and at risk of trafficking and prostitution in Thailand.  They also give them jobs to help them earn money and learn a different lifestyle.  And, guess what they do?  Make jewelry!  Actually, they have a business and teach the girls all different aspects.  Some learn to design jewelry, and some make it, and some learn the business side of it.  I love this idea, because they are not only doing something to help the girls get out of terrible situations, but they help them stay out, which is so effective!

I wanted to share this with all of you, because the jewelry is so great and the cause is so worthy.  I thought, what better way than to give away something to spread the word?

I'll be sending the winner some....
Beautiful Earrings
The winner can choose between these two:

Black and Jewel Toned Pearl Earrings

or

Multi-Tonal Pink and Cream Pearl Earrings

How to Enter:

Follow my blog, and tell me which earrings you would like.  (1 entry)
Check out NightLight's Store and let me know your favorite piece (1 entry)
Twitter about it and include @sarahannrogers so I know! (1 entry)
Blog about this giveaway and the organization (3 entries)
Please spread the word!  What a great opportunity to support these girls!

Leave me comments letting me know what you have done so I can make sure to count all of your entries!  Also, if you don't have a blog I can contact you through, please leave your email address!  Thanks!

I will choose a winner:
Monday, March 29 at 7:00 pm (EST)

Happy Snickers Day + My Friend Alexa!

This morning, my sweet husband left me a note and a Snickers on my bedside table.  He remembered the Snickers Day!
If you see a slight tear, it's because I already ate it!

There are still 6 hours left!  Eat a Snickers!  Enjoy!
